The Credit Repair Doctor
I have a lot of doctor bills on my credit. I’m willing to pay them off do i need to get them validated first before i pay them off. If they are validated do i write a “pay for deletion” letter before i pay the bill.
The best way to deal with medical accounts is to use WhyChat’s HIPAA process.

Spend some time reading over that. It’s alot to absorb but it’s a surefire way to remove medical bills from your credit report.
Rick B is right. What a credit repair company does is just systematically dispute everything on your credit report for you.
If a past creditor of yours doesn’t respond to the dispute in time, or if they are closed down, out of business, etc., or if the records are so old it takes them too much time to recover the information needed to prove you had a debt with them, then that item is removed from your report until the company can prove it.
Once they do, though, that item is back on your credit report. So it only brings your score up for a few months, at best…. unless they hit jackpot and find something that was from a company that’s gone bankrupt, or didn’t have all their files in order, etc.
Either way, you can dispute your own stuff yourself, at http://www.freecreditreport.com. Easy as pie.
i have bad credit i want to go threw a credit repair service are they good or no there is one called doctor credit usa what do you think
Don’t waste your time or money with a ‘repair service’. Make a budget, live on less than you make, and pay your bills early or on time. That is all you need to do.
I have a car charge off as of january for like 12,000
I have 2 old credit cards charged off 500+ &700+
I have old Doctor bills and cable bill etc. miscellaneous charge offs.
I actually have one car that I had for 2 years before my charge off that is not even positively listed, even though I paid it off and was never late?
Please any advice would help, I REFUSE TO GO THROUGH A CREDIT REPAIR COMPANY< DO NOT ADVERTISE TO ME..
I have in total about 17-18,000 debt
First the charge-offs are huge and will impact your credit for 7 1/2 years. There is nothing that can be done about those. Also most likely you will have collection agencies coming after you for the car and credit cards.
The doctor bills and are probably not listed as charge-offs they are most likely listed as collection accounts. Simply paying off collections will not make them go away, they are also negatively impacting your credit and will do so for 7 1/2 years.
The cable bill is most likely being reported by both the original creditor as charge-off and the collection company. Again simply paying the collections will not remove the negative account from your credit history.
The only way to remove the collection accounts is to negotiate a “Pay for Deletion” agreement with the collection agencies. This means that they agree in writing that they will remove the account from your credit report in exchange for payment. They will not want to do this, however they can. You have what they want..money.
If they agree, get the agreement in writing BEFORE you mail them the payment, pay by money order, never allow them access to your bank accounts.
Try to contact the company that financed the other car that was paid off without incident, and see if they will report the account to the credit bureaus.
The sooner that you can possibly re-establish some good credit, the better off you will be.
I have very bad credit. At least 3000 dollars worth of credit card and doctors bills. I am wanting to pay this off, and try to rebuild my credit. After everything is paid off, how long before the creditors(actually collection agencies in my case) take the points of of your credit, and do they even do this? Will it really help if I pay it off, or am I doomed? I want to buy a new house, new car, and get a credit card, but I cant ( even though I make good money) before I get married- which should be soon. I see creit repair agencies and debt consolidators, but have heard they make matters worse. I would like to pay off my debts, but if it doesnt help my credit score-I feel like I could spend the money on other things.( I am a single mother, while I make good money-I dont have it to throw around). Does anyone know what I should do?
I would like to add, that I do not have a large amount of credit card debt-it is very small. Most of my debt is medical.I also am not in any way saying that I make a great deal of money- but it is a very good amount for my age and experience. I can afford to make PAYMENTS on these items posted to my credit, but as of this moment ( holidays and all) I cannot pay them off- all at once. Would my credit report list who I should pay in specific ? I doubt very seriously that I have marks against my credit that are false, but if so it is worth a try to send them the correct info. Thanks for all of your help !Keep the great answers coming! I am taking notes!
Get the bills paid down and make payments on time and things will get better; but it’ll be 7 years before the “bad” credit pops off the credit report
But it is taking a toll on me.
My wife has bad spendng habits, poor judgement and rotten credit (with a 7 year old bankruptcy and a one-year old judgment). She has no credit cards, but she made a purchase of braces from a greedy doctor that wants payment up front. She agreed to the decision, without going over the terms with me. Her children (all 3) do not like me, and she does not like my son (because he is a product of a previous relationship/marriage). We have been married for 6 months, and it feels like I have been burdened to brink of near-financial collapse (due to her careless habits, and extensive credit repair). I have made many threats to leave her due to our disagreements (whether it is about money, or my involvement with my son and the ex), but she places the blame for me not loving her if I do leave. She is a very good woman, who is affectionate, and likes to cook and clean – plus has made many sacrifices for me. But I am reluctant to leave her, out of fear of being lonely and regretful. I am trying to weigh my options. What should I do?
You have a free cleaner
and a free cook
How much are the braces
Perhaps you would be better off
Just you and your son
Hire a cleaner and a cook or do it yourself
She does not like your son
Her children do not like you
Get a new cook/cleaner who causes you less heartache
I’ve never been late on my house payment or my auto payment. I have one credit card from 5 years ago, that has been charged off, and a doctor bill for $35.00. I’ve been on my job for 22 years. but my credit scores are 540-610 and no one wont’s to help me. My a/c in my home is out (live in Texas). is their a company that can help me get refinanced? with out having to spend money to get some kind of credit repair? I hear that’s a big scam also. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
Ok, i have a very severe deviated nasal septum. my nose is crooked and it has gotten to the point where my throat is so torn up (because i can’t breathe through my nose at night) that I continually keep losing my voice so i have to keep calling off work. it is just real bad and my doctor suggested i get it ASAP.
also.. it is pretty expensive… since it is so severe it is going to cost me about $8000, mainly because of the fees (procedure is going to take 3 hours)
anyways… my credit is awful (lost job, etc, etc) I have money to make payments and am getting myself back on track but you know how long it takes to repair credit.
well my sister-in-law agreed to cosign with me… she has excellent credit and in fact… she just got surgery that cost $5000+ and used care credit but then paid it off.
with my awful credit and her excellent credit– is there a chance of me getting approved with her co-signing? If so, what company would you suggest?
Thanks
nothing like breathing strips would work. i have a deviated septum and my nose is crooked (hence the deviated septum) so can’t breath… it is necessary to be done asap.
also.. my insurance will not cover it.. already tried.. with a big fight and lost. also.. the job that I lost didn’t pay very much and I have another job (transcription at home) so i couldn’t collect any money.. but it doesn’t pay very much at all.. but regardless. i still have it.
also… i’m not going to get into details.. but lets just say my sister-in-laws owes me this— believe me there is no friendship to ruin— she offered to do this for me for a reason– not just to be nice..
ok I didn’t ask for a speech, all I asked for is if I can or cannot be approved..
my insurance sucks… it is as basic as it gets.. only covering emergencies and doctors visits
and no I cannot work.. I wasn’t fired.. I just keep losing my voice so I can’t work
ya there is more information.. i just didn’t want to bring it up but since no one is being helpful because they don’t think i should i use her to help then i will tell you why..
a few years ago she came and picked me up from work (i worked at a restaurant and she picked me up around midnight) and we were going out to have a couple drinks. she seemed fine until we got onto a busy road and she seemed a little shaky.. then she informed me that she had been drinking BEFORE she picked me up.. at this point we were literally 20 seconds from the bar we were going to and when she turned off of a busy road we got hit (it was completely her fault). the impact cracked my skull and broke my nose (at the time my deviated septum wasn’t so bad).. now it is worse because my nose is crooked (wasn’t before the accident) and the surgeon couldn’t fix it… he said i would need another surgery.. and it was NOT covered.
at the time i didn’t have any insurance…
so she agreed to cosign for me with this
Simply put- if she agrees to cosign, they should approve you. My sister’s credit was terrible, but my mother cosigned for her auto loan. My sister was approved. The downfall to this situation is that if you fail to pay the monthly bill, it looks bad on her credit as well. Thought you’d like a nice, to-the-point answer.
Hope it all works out for you!
my husband and i want to buy a house 159-170,000 price range, we are both in progress of repairing credit his score is 523 mine is 509 no repos or credit card just slow pay and doctors bills for our kids . we own a small construction bis and have good income .do u think we have any option with scores that low??
You should be able to get approved. You amount is pretty reasonable. It will affect your mortgage rate though. If you amounts in collections, they will require that you pay those before being accepted for a loan. Getting mortgage is easier than people think, but you have to meet some bare minimum requirements. Like no collections. Doctor’s bills will affect you if they are in collections. You will have to pay them first. Meet with a broker, get them to pull your credit, they will tell the steps to getting approved for your new home. Good luck and I hope you find the home you are looking for!
I have a few negative credit marks on my report.
I was wondering if I should pay off debts that are only like 2 years old because I am wanting to finance a car and eventually a home…
I had a previous car repossesed but am making good payments on the rest of it, can I get them to delete it when its paid?
I am basically just wanting to repair my credit and with all my negative marks I dont know where to start…
Do I pay off the department store card I had? (3 to 4 years ago, $400)
The 2 credit cars? (2 years, $600)
Dentist and doctor?(2 years, $500)
Any help is greatlyappreciated!
I just checked my credit score and it said 555, poor, which is higher than I expected.
I think I will go the route of avoiding the 2 credit cards and paying off the local debts like medical if they agree to remove it from my report.
Great answers everyone! Thank you so much!
Your best bet is to pay off non credit card debt (your medical/dental bills) as you have the greatest chance of having these items completely removed from your credit file.
Charged off credit card debt is another matter. Don’t make the mistake of simply cutting a check to whatever collection agency has the debt for the charge-off and assume that your credit rating will be magically restored…Doing so will not remove it from your credit reports. It will simply be updated to a “Paid Charge-Off,” which, while slightly better, is still a seriously derogatory item. Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a charge-off, whether paid or not, can remain on a consumer’s credit reports for up to seven years.
If you’re going to pay off old-charged-off debt anyway, then you might as well negotiate the lowest settlement you can possibly get, being that the negative charge-off notation is going to stay for 7 years on your credit report anyway. You have to be VERY careful in this effort…Mail them a vaguely worded statement like:
I am willing to settle this matter for 25% of the original amount. This is in no way an admission of this debt, but rather an attempt to settle this matter. Your firm must send me a written agreement on your company’s letterhead that you will accept this amount as “payment in full” and that is issue will be settled. Upon receipt of this agreement, I will mail you a money order for this amount.
==================
* Get all terms of any settlement deal you reach with debt collectors IN WRITING BEFORE you give them your money. Never accept settlement deals over the phone…The debt collectors will deny that any settlement was ever made once they get your “settlement” money and will come back demanding more money.
* NEVER, EVER give out your checking account numbers to debt collectors for making electronic debit payments.
